The world’s biggest charity football match, Soccer Aid for UNICEF has announced Vitality – the innovative insurance and investment company – will be a partner for the 2021 game, which takes place on Saturday 4th September at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium.

This is the third year that Vitality has partnered with Soccer Aid for UNICEF, and this year’s partnership will include unique behind the scenes access with an array of Soccer Aid for UNICEF talent who will be taking part in fun fitness related challenges designed to inspire and encourage people to live healthier and more active lifestyles.

Nick Read, Managing Director of Vitality Programme, commented: “We’re proud of our longstanding partnership with UNICEF and delighted to be working with Soccer Aid for UNICEF once again.

“Through this fantastic event, millions of pounds are raised to help provide 2 billion Covid-19 vaccines to frontline healthcare workers, social workers and teachers around the world – those individuals who are critical in providing children with an education and necessary healthcare.”

Kenneth Shepherd, Founder of Soccer Aid for UNICEF, said: “Vitality has been a fantastic partner for many years and we’re delighted to continue our partnership with them for the 2021 match. We look forward to working with them in the build up to training week and the big match on Saturday 4th September at the Etihad stadium.”

Since 2006 – when UNICEF UK Ambassador Robbie Williams co-founded the concept – Soccer Aid for UNICEF has raised over £47m to help give children all over the world a happy, healthy childhood full of play. Soccer Aid for UNICEF 2020, at Old Trafford, raised a record breaking £9.3m.

As many countries celebrate coming out of lockdown, the Covid-19 crisis is still making life for many vulnerable children even tougher. The money raised from this year’s game could help UNICEF deliver 2 billion Covid-19 vaccines to frontline healthcare workers, social workers and teachers around the world – the people children rely on – and help children get back to school, beat malnutrition, and get the healthcare they need today and long after the crisis is over.

All donations and the value of every ticket purchased is being matched by the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), meaning everything donated to this year’s Soccer Aid for UNICEF is doubled, up to £6.3 million.

Vitality is a longstanding partner of UNICEF and supports other notable active and sports focused UNICEF campaigns.
