Mediaset agrees new deal with Ligue 1 to continue their Messi-centric coverage
Spanish media group Mediaset has acquired a further package of rights to French Ligue 1 matches featuring Paris Saint-Germain, following its broadcast of Lionel Messi’s debut for the club earlier this season.

This weekend on the 24th of October PSG will face off against Marseille for the first time this season in 'Le Classique'.

It will be the first of Paris Saint Germain's five matches in the French league that Mediaset Spain will offer throughout the season.

Le Classique is the matchup between the biggest teams from the country's two largest cities. The Mediaset broadcast will feature narration by Manu Carreño and commentary by Fernando Morientes and Pablo Pinto. Ricardo Reyes will travel to the Stade Vélodrome to tell the spectators everything that happens pitch side.

On August 25, Mediaset broadcast PSG's match against Stade de Reims, which marked Messi's debut in the French capital after almost 17 years in the colours of F.C. Barcelona. Messi's debut for PSG became the most watched foreign league match in the history of television in Spain. And two months later interest from Spanish viewers has showed no signs of waning.
