Social distancing in Premier League stadiums

Social distancing in Premier League stadiums
Football stadiums are looking and feeling empty without adoring fans creating a lively atmosphere, so Liberty Games has analysed the capacity of the UK’s biggest football stadium to find out how it might look with reduced capacity to allow for social distancing.

You can view Liberty Games' full findings here.

With optimal social distancing measures of 1 metre in place, Wembley will be operating at just 27% capacity.

Liberty Games have worked with an illustrator, to show how this might look. The illustrations are based on the calculations above.

Capacity at Wembley would be reduced from 90,000 to 24,400 to allow for 1-metre social distancing, meaning 65,600 fans would have to give up their tickets at the next match.

But the next big game at Wembley is a while off, so what can we expect to see across Premier League stadiums?

The table below shows how social distancing will be reduced in 20 of the Premier League stadiums.
