LFP launches MyLigue OTT service as part of digital revamp
France's Professional Football League (LFP) has confirmed the launch of its own streaming platform called MyLigue, which will be housed on two new websites dedicated to French soccer’s top two divisions.

The new web pages, http://www.ligue1conforama.fr and www.dominosligue2.fr, will show match and goal highlights from Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 at the end of each matchday.

Each website will allow users to register for the free MyLigue over-the-top (OTT) platform, which will also feature exclusive video content including news, interviews, analysis, player compilations, and archive footage.

The streaming service, which was built in collaboration with US technology company Ooyala, allows subscribers to personalise their own content experience based on their favourite club. It will also incorporate programming from the Coupe de la Ligue, the country’s premier club cup competition.

MyLigue is also available via the LFP’s redesigned English-language site, ligue1.com, which has been developed for the international market and will include a new podcast called ‘Le Beau Game’.

According to a report in October by France’s L’Equipe newspaper, the LFP opted to choose an English name for the streaming service to appeal to global audiences, and is also considering broadcasting some matches from Ligue 1 or Ligue 2 on the platform in selected countries.

Speaking to L’Equipe last year, LFP Chief Executive Didier Quillot said “it is necessary to improve the visibility of Ligue 1 internationally in some territories.”

He added: “This OTT application will create a bit of competition where the league is not well or not at all distributed, like Poland and Belgium.”

The LFP has also revamped its lfp.fr web page. The site will house the soccer body’s institutional data and decisions made by the National Directorate of Management Control (DNCG), the body that oversees the accounts of France’s professional soccer clubs.

It will also act as the platform for authorising filming requests across French soccer, and manage the LFP’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) actions.
