J League appoints SNTV to manage YouTube channel
Sports News Television (SNTV), the joint venture between IMG and The Associated Press (AP), has been appointed to manage the J League’s new international YouTube channel.

The agreement will see the sports video agency deliver a YouTube channel strategy for the Japanese soccer league that will include video stories, match highlights, player profiles, reaction and archive features. Additionally, SNTV will produce regular news features which highlight players, events and matches.

SNTV’s J League content will also be distributed across its network of broadcast and digital media outlets to help the league grow its international audience.

The 2020 season is the third year that SNTV has worked with the J League, with the latest arrangement marking an expansion of their existing tie-up.

SNTV’s Managing Director, James Dobbs, said: “The J League is recognised as one of the most successful and competitive leagues in Asia and we are excited to extend our relationship with them.

“The launch of the international YouTube channel and SNTV’s overall content offering will take viewers closer to the action and give a real insight into the clubs and players in Japan.”

The news comes after the J League signed a three-year deal with iCable Communications covering broadcast rights in Hong Kong.

The J league’s 2020 season will begin on 21st February, running until the end of November.
