BENFICA LAUNCHES “WE DO NOT GIVE UP” CAMPAIGN
With the return of the Portuguese league and no fans allowed in the stands, SL Benfica challenged their supporters and members to fill the Stadium of Light with what is the symbol of their belief: their scarves.

So far, the Portuguese Champions have received over 30,000 scarves from supporters and placed them around the stadium in an effort to make their players feel at home.

The campaign, called “We do not give up”, is taking place for all home matches until the end of the season and aims to gather enough scarves to cover the entire stadium. Benfica have received scarves from Portugal and abroad including thousands from their supporters’ clubs located around the world.

The Stadium of Light will also host the UEFA Champions League Final 8 tournament in August and this initiative could present organizers with an idea to add colour to the stadium in case fans are not allowed in at that time.

At the end of the season, the scarves which have been received will be exhibited in a permanent exhibtion in a tribute to the Members who contributed to help the team in this difficult time.
