Bayern Munich agree Google voting partnership
According to German outlet Focus, the partnership will initially run until the end of the 2019/20 season, but will likely be extended at least for the remainder of 2020 and possibly further.
The club have confirmed that the initial activation will be focused around a voting campaign allowing fans to choose their most emotional moment in Bayern’s history. The integration will initially just be available in Germany to anyone who enters ‘FC Bayern’ into Google’s search engine, although further territories could be included in future activations. The partnership is Google’s first such campaign with a soccer club.
Bayern Munich’s President for the Americas, Rudolf Vidal, said: “As a leading technology brand, Google is constantly innovating and creating new products for an ever-changing market, similar to the deep-rooted values of FC Bayern.
“We are pleased to kick-off this unique alliance during our 120th anniversary year and look forward to exciting collaborations in the future.”
Bayern Munich are top of the Bundesliga, with 49 points from 23 games. Second-placed RB Leipzig are just one point behind with 48.
