UEFA delivers EURO 2020 deal with Takeaway.com
European soccer’s governing body UEFA has signed an agreement with online food delivery company Takeaway.com, which will become an official partner to EURO 2020.

Under the terms of the agreement, the platform will be the national team tournament’s official food delivery services provider, which also gives the company rights to stadium advertising throughout next summer’s showpiece.

Guy-Laurent Epstein, marketing director of UEFA Events, said that the deal “confirms that we are on the right track with our digital strategy”.

“Takeaway.com has established itself as a market leader in Europe in the rapidly growing food delivery industry and we are delighted to have them on board,” he continued.

“Throughout the tournament, they will provide millions of fans of UEFA national team football with an easy and seamless way to order food, as they simultaneously watch some of European football’s biggest stars compete in one of world sport’s greatest spectacles.”

Takeaway.com, a Dutch company set up in 1999 and serves 16.7 million customers in 11 countries, including several set to compete in EURO 2020, as well as some of tournament’s host cities, including Amsterdam, Bucharest and Munich.

In addition to marketing and brand exposure at tournament games, the partnership is also offering the chance for children to meet elite players, while customers of affiliated restaurants will have the chance to win tickets to tournament matches.

“The services our company provides are already amongst the most recognised brands in the countries where we operate,” said Jitse Groen, the chief executiver of Takeaway.com.

“The UEFA EURO 2020 sponsorship will add to our reach and will further establish Takeaway.com as a leading European household brand. It's a unique opportunity to reach the entire population, around the time when fans are enjoying their favourite food.”

EURO 2020, which will take place in 12 host cities, kicks off in Rome on 12th June, and will come to its conclusion a month later, with the final taking place at Wembley Stadium in London.
