Serie A included in joint DAZN and Fastweb subscription package

Serie A included in joint DAZN and Fastweb subscription package
Global streaming platform DAZN has signed an agreement with Italian broadband internet provider Fastweb that integrates its live and on-demand sports coverage in Italy into a new subscription package.

The offer, which goes by ‘Fastweb Casa e DAZN’, combines Fastweb’s broadband services with the full range of events available via DAZN’s Italian over-the-top (OTT) service, including DAZN’s exclusive rights to three weekly games from Serie A, Italian soccer's top-flight club competition.

The package also includes other soccer coverage, ranging from Italian second-tier Serie B matches, to top-flight games from Spain’s LaLiga, France’s Ligue 1 and the Netherlands’ Eredivisie, as well as English cup competitions.

The package is now available to Fastweb customers for €40.95 (US$45.40), and also includes unlimited phone and internet use domestically, as well as access to a new customer support service, via multiple connected devices.

Roberto Chieppa, Fastweb’s Marketing and Customer Experience Officer, said: “Fastweb has always been close to the world of sport.

“Through the agreement with DAZN, it intends to satisfy the desire of its customers to experience the best sporting events at the forefront by accessing all the contents of the platform simply and quickly, from home or in mobility.

“With the launch of the new offer we combine the reliability and speed of our network with all the thrills of sports live and on demand to offer all our customers the best possible experience.”

Subscribers will also gain access to Eurosport channels through DAZN’s carriage agreement with the pan-European broadcaster’s parent company, Discovery. Eurosport has rights to Grand Tour cycling, Grand Slam tennis, motorsport, European basketball, and the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

DAZN’s offer also includes rights to the National Football League (NFL), Major League Baseball (MLB), boxing, mixed martial arts, and European rugby union.

The partnership with Fastweb was announced amid reports that TIM is holding talks with DAZN around a potential carriage deal that would see the Italian telecommunications firm distribute DAZN’s Serie A rights via its own internet video platform, TIMvision.

TIM also recently reached an agreement with Sky Italia to add the pay-TV broadcaster’s NowTV-Ticket Sport package to TIMvision, bringing seven out of the ten Serie A games each fixture round to the platform, as well as live European club soccer from the UEFA Champions League.
