OGC Nice extend kit deal with Macron

OGC Nice extend kit deal with Macron
Top-flight French soccer team OGC Nice have extended their deal with Macron, the Italian sports apparel company, to be their official kit supplier until 2024.

The two have partnered since the 2016/17 season and the new agreement will also see Macron launch an exclusive product line for the Ligue 1 club.

The move comes as the Italian brand continues to strengthen its position in the French soccer market. It now provides kit for three Ligue 1 clubs, with AJ Auxerre and RC Lens also on its books.

Outside of France, Macron has kit deals with more than 50 soccer clubs and teams across the globe. In Europe, it is the most represented brand in Serie A, Italy’s top-flight, with five clubs under contract. It also provides teamwear in the top soccer divisions in Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands and Belgium. From the 2019/20 season, it will also be represented in the Bundesliga, Germany’s top division, as the official kit supplier for Hannover 96.

The increased presence in Europe, coupled with a boost in North American sales, helped Macron end the 2018 financial year with a reported turnover of €97.8 million (US$109.4 million), an 18.3 per cent increase on the previous year, according to Palco23.

Gianluca Pavanello, Chief Executive of Macron, said: “We are happy to renew our sponsorship with OGC Nice, one of the most prestigious clubs in France with whom we will launch a technical and exclusive line to consolidate our presence in the international market.”
