Liverpool pass 1m followers on TikTok

The Chinese company has confirmed that since Liverpool officially launched their @liverpoolfc profile five months ago they have racked up 1.1 million followers. In that same period, by focusing primarily on light-hearted content, the club have earned a combined 6.5 million likes on their posts whilst generating more than 81 million views.
Back in May, Liverpool became the first Premier League club to launch an official account on the ByteDance platform and are now the second most popular European soccer club on TikTok behind Spanish giants Barcelona, who boast 1.7 million followers.
A recent study utilising data from Influencer Marketing Hub, which used follower numbers as well as the amount of likes and comments their posts attract, estimated that Liverpool have the potential to earn US$522 per post. The same study estimates that Barcelona’s promoted TikTok post are worth US$879 each.
Whilst Liverpool are making strides on TikTok some of their rivals in English soccer - such as Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United - are missing out on potential revenue as they do not have official profiles on the platform.
However, high-flying Leicester have now launched an official account where they will share short videos and behind-the-scenes footage of first-team players.
