Liverpool get technical with Acronis cloud deal
English soccer giants Liverpool have struck a multi-year deal with Acronis that sees the cloud storage specialists become the Premier League club’s global cyber backup and storage partner.

Liverpool will use the Swiss-based tech company’s platform to store and safeguard large volumes of data across their sporting and business operations, with the Acronis system designed to allow different departments to share documents and collaborate on tasks more easily.

Billy Hogan, Liverpool’s managing director and chief commercial officer, said: “We are always looking for ways to enhance the way we store and share important files and information across the business.

“Our data is incredibly valuable, and safely and efficiently storing and accessing that information is critical to the way we operate as a business and a football club."

Acronis’ Founder and Chief Executive, Serguei Beloussov, added: “At the highest level of competition, data is a critical asset. Acronis’ technology is perfectly suited for helping organisations get ‘CyberFit’ in high-pressure, digitally intensive environments.”

Liverpool’s owners, Fenway Sports Group, already has ties to Acronis as through its other sports properties: Major League Baseball’s (MLB) Boston Red Sox and Nascar’s Roush Fenway Racing.
