Borussia Dortmund launch on TikTok
German soccer giants Borussia Dortmund have launched a TikTok account, following the likes of Inter Milan and AS Monaco onto the short-form content sharing platform.

TikTok - known as Douyin in China - is growing hugely popular, especially in Asia, the platform has 500 million downloads globally and is available in 75 languages.

The Borussia Dortmund account is set to feature behind-the-scenes footage, training ground antics and fan-generated content.

So far on the account, the club have posted an introductory video from captain Marco Reus, a training ground clip from Jadon Sancho and a team photoshoot snippet.

Dortmund have become the first Bundesliga side to utilise the platform and the launch is thought to be part of the club’s push into Asia. The club already have accounts on Asian social networks WeChat, Weibo and Line as well as the widely used western platforms.

This digital foray marks Dortmund’s second in recent weeks. The club recently linked up with Fantastec’s SWAP platform – a blockchain collectibles game by which fans can trade club content securely.

On the pitch, Dortmund currently sit second in the Bundesliga after losing 5-0 to rivals Bayern Munich on 6th April.
