Aston Villa and Everton become Etoro’s latest Premier League partners
The latest agreements form part of a six-team club portfolio for Etoro in the Premier League, including extensions to partnerships with Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace, Leicester City and Southampton.
The latter were part of a seven-club partnership that Etoro announced ahead of the 2018/19 campaign, which also included Newcastle United, Brighton and Hove Albion, as well as Cardiff City, who were relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
At the time, the deal was thought to be the first partnerships in the Premier League financed using Bitcoin, which Etoro’s UK managing director Iqbal Gandham claimed was a landmark moment for the league.
The partnerships will see Etoro gain exposure across physical and digital branding, with each club activating their deal individually.
Cryptocurrency sponsorship has become a feature for other Premier League clubs. In January 2018, Arsenal became the league's first club to enter a cryptocurrency partnership, signing an exclusive deal with CashBet Coin.
In July 2019, Wolves extended their partnership with CoinDeal for a further season, after appointing the global cryptocurrency exchange as its official sleeve sponsor a year earlier.
