AC and Inter Milan warm to A2A Energia partnership
Italian soccer giants AC and Inter Milan have announced A2A Energia as their official energy partner.

The two Serie A rivals have both agreed a deal with the Brescia-based company, confirming the agreement in a joint announcement. The length and financial terms of the partnership have not bene made public.

The Milan clubs have signed several commercial deals of late, though this is the first joint tie-up of note recently. Last month, AC named Axitea as their official security partner last month, while Inter are set to earn a reported €100 million (US$110 million) from a new sponsorship deal with Evergrande’s electric car brand Hengda Hengchi.

Both sides are also looking to improve their main shirt sponsorship agreements. AC have reportedly opened talks with Emirates Airline as they enter the last season of their US$125 million deal, while Inter are considering replacing Pirelli with Chinese real estate group Evergrande after the tyre company’s €10.5 million (US$11.5 million) per year partnership expires.

Paolo Scaroni, AC Milan Chairman, said of the new deal: "Milan and A2A are brought together by strong ambition and constant evolution, this agreement has come about thanks to our club culture as a socially-progressive body that also focuses on the well-being of the area in which we work. We hope that this partnership marks the start of a constant process of growth alongside one another."

Alessandro Antonello, Inter’s Corporate CEO, added: "The energy sector is naturally one of innovation, a key value for Inter that is shared with our partners. We are certain that this new partnership will demonstrate great strength and help us to achieve significant objectives."
