Wolves pen naming rights deal with club owners Fosun
English team’s training ground to be rebranded with Chinese company’s name

English top-flight soccer team Wolverhampton Wanderers have signed a sponsorship deal with Chinese company Fosun International, which will see the club’s training ground rebranded for the first time.

The training facility, which is owned by the investment firm after it acquired the Premier League outfit in 2016, will officially be known as the ‘Sir Jack Hayward Training Ground sponsored by Fosun International’.

In addition, the sponsorship deal includes a host of other marketing rights, including LED advertising at the club’s Molineux stadium, media backdrop branding and matchday hospitality. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The arrangement is a sign of the Chinese owners’ commitment to the West Midlands-based outfit, having already invested heavily in the club since they gained promotion from the Championship last season.

Wolves Managing Director Laurie Dalrymple said: “The facilities at our training ground, and the elite player development that our coaches provide, align seamlessly with Fosun International’s commitment to health, happiness and social responsibility, with a particular emphasis on self-improvement, teamwork and performance, making this sponsorship opportunity a great fit.

“We’ve invested heavily in redeveloping our training facilities over the summer, which is why we have saved this announcement until completion of the works, but this deal means we can continue to improve year-on-year to provide a best-in-class environment for our academy players, right through to the first-team.”

Wolves are currently 13th in the Premier League and face third-placed Chelsea at home on Wednesday, before travelling to face Newcastle at St James’ Park on Sunday.
