PSV and Chivas enter knowledge-sharing alliance
Dutch top-flight soccer team PSV Eindhoven have entered a knowledge-sharing partnership with Mexican giants Chivas de Guadalajara.
The clubs, who have maintained a close relationship for over a decade, will strengthen their alliance by sharing commercial as well as soccer knowledge with one another.#
The relationship between the two clubs began in 2006, when Chivas sanctioned the sale of defender Carlos Salcido to the Eredivisie outfit.
Commenting on the collaboration, PSV’s Commercial Director, Frans Janssen, said: “They have made it clear that they really want to develop a form of cooperation.
“Chivas is a huge club in a region that is very interesting for us, and that region breaks its limits, because it is also an important club in the United States. They want to share this with us, and that really helps us with our ambitions.”
PSV sit two points ahead of rivals Ajax at the top of the Eredivisie despite last Sunday’s 2-1 loss to Feyenoord, which ended the their unbeaten start to the league season. They host 12th placed Excelsior at the Philips Stadion on Friday.
