According to Song Linlin, president of GOME, the brand will launch a series of mobile phone promotions and activations in June ahead of the 2018 Fifa World Cup.
The length and financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.
The news comes after a number of Chinese companies have partnered with international soccer teams for the build-up to the World Cup, including sports drink brand Eastroc Super Drink and beverage producer Hangzhou Wahaha Group, which will both sponsor the Portugal national men’s soccer team, and consumer electronics firm Sinchuan Changhong Electric, which has agreed a deal with the Belgium national men’s soccer team.
Linlin said: “Suarez is a popular international football player and one of the best players in the world. On the field, he won football fans from all over the world with extraordinary talent and superb skills. Loved outside the stadium, Suarez's sense of responsibility for the family and care for others has also won him numerous praises."
Luis Suarez is next in action for Uruguay when they host Uzbekistan on 8th June in an international friendly ahead of the 2018 Fifa World Cup this summer.
