Deco and Hernan Crespo to talk sporting heroes at Soccerex China
Football legends Deco and Hernán Crespo will be part of the inaugural Soccerex China, 17-18th April, Zhuhai – where they will be speaking about sporting heroes alongside other greats of the game yet to be announced.

Anderson Luis de Souza, better known as Deco, is internationally renowned former professional football player who won 75 caps for Portugal. Domestically he won 23 three trophies with four clubs including Chelsea and Fluminese and is one of a small group to have won the UEFA Champion’s League with two clubs – FC Porto and FC Barcelona.

At end of his career, Deco wanted to share the next generation the experiences he gained from 17 years in the game and so he founded D20 Sports. D20 Sports is an agency specialized in the management of athletes and coaches, which has a qualified and multifaceted team to give support to our generating subsidies for the development and execution of customized strategic plans.

Hernán Jorge Crespo is a former Argentinean footballer who scored over 300 goals throughout his whole career. At club level, Crespo was once the world's most expensive player, when he was bought by Lazio from Parma in 2000 for £35.5 million. He enjoyed a successful career in Italy’s Serie A playing for five different clubs, including both Milan sides, and winning three Serie A scudetti. Crespo also spent a successful spell in England at Chelsea where in 2005 he won the Premier League. At international level, Crespo scored 35 goals and is Argentina's third highest goalscorer behind only Gabriel Batistuta and Lionel Messi. He played in three FIFA World Cups: 1998, 2002 and 2006.

After he hung up his boots, he had brief stints coaching the Parma youth team and managing Serie B club Modena. Crespo was recently named the Vice President of Parma following the Chinese takeover of the club.

They are both modern day heroes who have excited and inspired countless football fans around the world. At Soccerex they will discuss their different paths to football stardom, they will share who their heroes were both, on and off the pitch and why they were so special to them and how they dealt with the pressure of being looked up to by fans in their careers.

The Sporting Heroes session is just part of a varied conference programme at Soccerex China focusing on the growth of football in China and in particular the fulfilment of China’s national football reform plan.

The event has a network of local and international event partners that includes LaLiga and our host partners TimeFun Media & Culture Ld and Huafa Sports, part of the Zhuhai Huafa Group
