Espanyol recruit new Chinese partner
The Chinese brand will serve as the La Liga outfit’s front-of-shirt sponsor during four regular season fixtures, in a deal which will see the company’s logo imprinted across the chest of the first team’s shirts in their second, third, fourth and 17th games of the 2017/18 season.
For the remaining matches, the Rastar Group, which purchased a 56% stake in Espanyol in 2015, will retain its position on the front of the players’ tops.
Additionally, Leadercf will benefit from a range of brand exposure throughout the Barcelona-based club’s RCDE Stadium and across their digital channels. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Ramon Robert, chief executive of Espanyol, said: “Asia and China in particular is a very important market for RCD Espanyol, our president is Chinese himself and so are thousands of fans of our club, who no doubt will be very pleased with this agreement.
“The club is innovating and strengthening its commercial policy and this step with Leadercf exemplifies it: we adapt to the needs of our sponsors and at the same time both parties are reinforced.”
Zhang Wensheng, general director of Leadercf, added: “We are happy to reach a sponsorship agreement with RCD Espanyol, and with the club we hope we can popularise our brand around the world through La Liga.”
Espanyol finished eighth in La Liga in 2016/17, and kick off the new campaign away to Sevilla on 19th August.
