Marseille and Intersport solidify relationship
Ligue 1 club Olympique de Marseille have extended their agreement with shirt sponsor Intersport until the end of 2015/16 season.

The year-long extension cements what is a longstanding relationship between the French club and sportswear giant. The Intersport logo has appeared in the primary shirt sponsor spot, both home and away, for the past five years.

"Olympique Marseille is proud to have one more year on one of his most loyal partners,” said Marseille president Vincent Labrune. “Being able to rely on the unwavering support of such a brand, a world leader in the distribution of sporting goods, is a major advantage in the development of our club.”

Intersport are an international sporting goods retailer. The company's headquarters are located in Bern, Switzerland, but it was originally founded in Sweden. The retail outlet holds a strong presence across continental Europe.

Despite a strong 2014/15 season, club Marseille currently lie eighth in the French Ligue 1, 32 points adrift of league leaders and arch rivals Paris Saint-Germain. 2010 Ligue 1 champions Marseille have a strong national fanbase and boast a stellar squad, including French national team player Lassana Diarra.
