Arsenal sign another deal in Indonesia
The deal will see the Indonesian financial institution issue Arsenal-branded debit cards in its home country, and run marketing initiatives aimed and consumer promotions in tandem with the club.
Bank Muamalat will have the right to generate content with Arsenal first-team players and utilise the club's database to engage with Arsenal fans in Indonesia.
Arsenal will also send coaches to Indonesia to run coaching clinics on behalf of the bank.
Financial details have not been released.
Arsenal have a strong commercial history in the territory. In 2013, the club signed a sponsorship with Indonesian mobile operator Telkomsel, while last year that deal was replaced by a new one with rival operator Indosat.
“This is the second partnership we have concluded in Indonesia this season and underlines the level of support we have in the country," said Arsenal chief commercial officer Vinai Venkatesham.
"With more Indonesian fans following Arsenal on Facebook than in any other country, we have a significant opportunity to engage further with our supporters through this partnership with Bank Muamalat”.
Endy Abdurrahman, chief executive of Bank Muamalat, said: “Bank Muamalat strives to give the best experience to customers through collaboration with selected partners in order to achieve our vision. Arsenal, as one of the best football clubs in the world with brilliant performances in the Barclays Premier League, is the right partner for the bank to increase business growth primarily in the youth segment by becoming the first Islamic bank in Indonesia to co-brand with an international football club.”
Arsenal currently lead the English Premier League on goal difference.
