Liebenauer Stadium gets new naming rights sponsor
Austrian company Merkur Insurance Group has agreed a ten-year naming rights deal for the Liebenauer Stadium, the home of Tipico Bundesliga club SK Sturm Graz.

From March 2016 the stadium, which has been known as the UPC-Arena since 2006, will have a new name, though what that will be is yet to be announced and no financial details have been revealed.

The stadium is set to undergo extensive renovations in the coming weeks, including the expansion of the North Stand, improvements to sanitary facilities and catering areas, and the instalment of undersoil heating.

The renovations will be funded by a €5 million local council grant approved in November 2014, and the work is scheduled for completion for the start of the 2016/17 season.
