AMS seal Rwanda FA partnership

11 May 2015 | Commercial & Sponsorship
The Rwandese Federation of Association Football (Ferwafa) has secured an apparel deal with AMS Clothing.

The deal will see AMS supply the Amavubi – the national soccer team of the Rwanda FA – with match kit for the remainder of 2015. The agreement includes an option to continue the partnership beyond 2015 if all parties are satisfied.

AMS, founded in 2014, is an Australian-based social enterprise which aims to support African soccer by supplying kit to national soccer teams and clubs throughout Africa.

The official kit designs will be released in early June, ahead of the Amavubi’s congested summer fixture list which includes the African Cup of Nations qualifiers, the Fifa World Cup qualifiers, the East and Central African Championship (Cecafa Cup), in addition to a number of friendlies.

AMS Clothing founder Luke Westcott said: “We have been patiently waiting for the right opportunity to come along to supply another national team, and supplying the Amavubi is a huge honour.

“We will do our best to ensure that the players are given quality apparel, and fans are provided with striking, attractive designs.

“We would like to especially thank Amavubi head coach Jonathan McKinstry for playing a major role in forming the partnership and also to Ferwafa for arranging this exciting opportunity.”

The president of Ferwafa, Vincent Nzamwita, said: "This agreement is the beginning of good and great things to happen to Rwanda football with regards to sponsorship deals.

“Ferwafa is happy to come into partnership with a global brand like AMS Clothing. We are in good company."

AMS currently supplies kit to the national soccer teams of South Sudan and Sierra Leone.
