As Academy Coordinator of the Ajax Coaching Academy, Laura (1985) is responsible for translating the Ajax philosophy into online and offline educational content and programs for clubs, coaches and players in the Netherlands and abroad. Her daily activities are as diverse as her personality itself: you can find Laura in small clubhouses of regional partnerclubs, but also in the boardroom of Sydney FC in Australia or a Major League Soccer club in the United States. With a keen eye for new business she is always on the lookout for new ways and opportunities to spread the Ajax philosophy on a global level. Laura has been involved in football from an early age.
As a player she was part of the youth squad of the Dutch National Team and during her student years she earned an athlete scholarship to play college soccer in the United States. After her active player career she earned her UEFA C youth license to become a youth coach at top level amateur side JEKA, and as a policy advisor for the Dutch Royal Football Association (KNVB) she has been the driving force behind winning the bid for the 2017 UEFA Women's Championship. Laura has managed to earn several academic degrees during her busy work and match schedules. From Tilburg University she obtained a master’s degree in Leisure Studies, and with an ORTEC TSS scholarship Laura completed the Sports Management program at the prestigious Johan Cruyff Institute. In the capacity of Academy Coordinator Laura aims to create a working atmosphere in which all her colleagues are being encouraged and facilitated in such a way that every day they can be the best version of themselves.
