President
Fernando Gomes has been involved in sport for over four decades and has been a senior director for the last 20 years. After a brief incursion into the world of basketball, he became Vice President of FC Porto where he performed roles linked to football, marketing and financial management.

He deepened his experience as a director through intensive participation in international bodies such as the UEFA and FIFA Club Competitions Committees, the Management Committee of the European Club Forum and the European Club Association (ECA), where he occupied different posts over a ten-year spell.
In Portugal he has been President of the Professional Football League of Clubs and Vice President of the FPF, before being elected President of the Portuguese Football Federation in December 2011. He was reelected in 2016.

In May 2013, Fernando Gomes was appointed Member of the UEFA Executive Committee, in the capacity of a “special adviser” and Vice-President of the UEFA National Associations Committee.

In 2015 and 2019 he was elected as Member of the UEFA Executive Committee. He´s also Vice-Chairman of UEFA´s Executive Commitee.

He led Portugal to victories in FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2015, Euro u-17 2016, Euro u-19 2018, Euro Futsal 2018, Euro 2016 and Nations League 2019.
