With rights market showing signs of stagnation, new competitions structures under discussion and new revenue opportunities through activities such as sports betting coming to the fore, the football business landscape is changing - what will the new landscape look like and how will this affect the future investment in football? in this session, through a panel of global football finance and business experts, we will analyse the future of football business, revenue generation and investment in the game.

Director of the FC Barcelona Master in Football Business

Oliver Seitz is the academic director of the FC Barcelona Master in Football Business by Johan Cruyff Institute and Football Business Development at the Johan Cruyff Institute, where he leads the projects in consultancy for clubs and other organizations. Before joining the Institute, Dr Seitz worked as a consultant and as a lecturer in Football Business at the UCFB in London, in partnership with the FA. Prior to moving to London, he lived in Brazil, where he worked as head of marketing for Jacquet Brossard, a French multinational consumer goods company. Before that, he was head of marketing at Coritiba Football Club, where, in 2012, he was awarded the Best Overseas Marketing Campaign by the FC Business Awards in London. Dr Seitz holds a PhD in Football Business from the University of Liverpool.

Pedro Trengrouse's career has focused on advising public and private sector in key policies and initiatives related to new technologies and innovative approaches to Sport as a tool for human, social and economic development.

He is a Visiting Scholar at Harvard Law School, tethered directly to Professor Charles Nesson, Weld Professor of Law, Faculty Co-Director, Berkman Center for Internet and Society, Professor of Sports Law and Governance at Fundação Getulio Vargas, the most prestigious think-tank in Latin America, and Academic Coordinator of the FGV/FIFA/CIES Programme on Sports Management.

He served the United Nations as UNDP Consultant on matters related to the FIFA World Cup 2014 and Sport Legislation and has been serving as a consultant to companies like Caixa Econômica Federal, Itau, Oi and Coca-Cola as well as Trusted Advisor to AB-Inbev, was Member of the Legal Committee of the Brazilian Ministry of Sports as well as of the Brazilian Senate Legal Committee responsible for drafting the General Law for Sports for Brazil and sits at the Council of several institutions such as the Archdiocese of Rio de Janeiro Cultural Association, the Commercial Association of Rio de Janeiro and the Brazilian Association of Rehabilitation – ABBR.

He is a FIFA Master laureate and holds a certificate on Casino Regulations from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. The FIFA Corporate Social Responsibility department and the FIFA Foundation were created in line with the recommendations made in his FIFA Master thesis, published by SDA Bocconi and regarded as a reference to the field by the United Nations Office on Sport for Development and Peace.

A published author and media commentator, he works across professional sport advising key stakeholders on a range of strategic issues.
