Miguel Angel Loor was born in Guayaquil- Ecuador, graduated as a lawyer at the University of Specialties Espiritu Santo (UEES). His first steps in the soccer industry started in 2011 as Secretary General in the most popular club in Ecuador, Barcelona Sporting Club. In 2013, Miguel Angel was part of the Guayas province soccer association (Asoguayas). After two years in 2015, he became Vice-President of Guayaquil Sport Club, until he was elected President of Guayaquil City Fútbol Club in 2017.
In April 2018, Miguel Angel was elected president of LigaPro. Shortly after, he reached a historic guaranteed +$314M 10-year TV deal with media partner Goltv, which has allowed affiliated clubs obtain substantial increments of income versus previous years.
Under his presidency, Miguel Angel executed strict economic regulatory procedures among the affiliated clubs. These measures will constantly guarantee the league economic sustainability as well as to fulfill the compromise to offer fans the best soccer spectacle, the soccer that we want.
The league naming rights commercial value increased three times in 2019 versus previous years. The deal includes first and second division tournaments organized by LigaPro.
In efforts to aid the Covid-19 victims in April 2020, the institution organized a fund-raised event, known as LigaPro Banco Pichincha Live, which were able to collect more than $400,000.
