Case Study: Real Madrid CF & bwin

Spanish giants and ten times European Champions Real Madrid CF first attended Soccerex in 2005 and have been consistent attendees since.

At the 2006 Global Convention, using the networking platforms that Soccerex provides, Real Madrid CF were able to meet with one of the world's elite gaming corporations, bwin, who have attended a number of Soccerex events over the past decade, and the two organisations established a very strong business relationship.

Subsequently, bwin were pleased to announce a new partnership starting on 1 July 2007 as the main sponsor for Real Madrid CF. Apart from displaying the bwin logo on the jerseys of Real Madrid CF, the commercial agreement extended to extensive branding in Real Madrid’s stadium and training ground.

Speaking on the partnership, Andrea Gaudenzi, Head of Sponsorship & Events, bwin, commented: “As a global brand looking to cement ourselves in the football industry Soccerex events provide the perfect opportunity to meet up and talk business with the clubs from key leagues, such as Real Madrid. Soccerex is an occasion that allows us to hold many meetings in a time efficient environment.”

The long-term shirt sponsorship of Real Madrid has been fundamental in establishing bwin as Europe’s leading online gaming brand and provided excellent value for both parties.
