Cafú joins Soccerex for São Paulo event
11 Aug 2010
Last Friday, Soccerex staged their first networking event in São Paulo, the business capital of Brazil as part of the build up to this year’s Global Convention in Rio de Janeiro.
The event attracted around 100 key decision makers from business and media in São Paulo including representatives from Bank Itau, Sony, VIVO, Ambev, Samsung, Editora Abril and Folha de São Paulo.
In addition to a presentation on Soccerex, guests were treated to an appearance by Brazilian football legend and World Cup winning captain, Cafú, who confirmed his intention to work with Soccerex in Brazil to help highlight the importance of social responsibility and how football can make a difference.
Since he retired from the game, Cafú has been working to promote his own project – the Cafu Foundation – which looks to further social inclusion and development opportunities for the community of Vila Irene, where he grew up, and the surrounding neighbourhoods.
The Soccerex team is currently in Rio de Janeiro ahead of a similar networking event to be held on Wednesday 11th August at the Copacabana Palace Hotel.
