Bundesliga and La Liga join World League Debate at Soccerex

Soccerex are delighted to confirm that Tom Bender, Chief Marketing Officer, Bundesliga and Francisco, Roca Perez, CEO, La Liga have both confirmed their participation in this year’s Soccerex Global Convention – 20-24 November 2010, Rio de Janeiro.

The two senior representatives will be speaking as part of a panel entitled “World League Debate” which will address key issues such as league development, growth strategies, broadcasting deals and governance and how they differ from league to league.

Bender and Roca Perez will be be speaking alongside Will Wilson, Executive Vice President of Soccer United Marketing, the body that represents the commercial interests of the MLS and representatives from leagues in Asia and South America.

With their top teams regularly competing for Europe’s major prizes and broadcasting deals that ensure their matches are watched throughout the globe, the Bundesliga and La Liga are two of the most successful and most respected leagues in the world.

In his role as General Manager and Executive Board Member has played a key role in the Bundesliga’s recent growth which saw revenues increase by over €130m last year. The league continues to record the highest average attendances in Europe and in Bayern Munich, provided the runners up for the 2009/10 Champions League.

Francisco Roca Perez has been CEO of La Liga since 2005 and has been instrumental in the League’s development plans which include the launch of the LFP Liga Cup in Asia, in 2011 – launched at the Soccerex Asian Forum earlier this year – designed to increase the international awareness of the league by bringing its clubs and players on tour around the world.

The World League Debate is part of an agenda which features of a wide range of subjects from the commercial lifecycle of South American talent and Brazil’s fan revolution to the next generation of football media, hosting the FIFA World Cup and much more.
