PSV Eindhoven has signed commercial agreements with Asian insurance giant AIA and glass manufacturer Martin Glas.

The partnership with AIA will see the Eredivisie giant travel to Thailand in January during the club’s winter break. The agreement is the latest step in an ongoing strategy which sees PSV support main sponsor Philips’ drive into new markets. The club is also intending to use the trip to boost its global profile, particularly in the Southeast Asian market.

PSV’s trip to Thailand will include a friendly game against newly-crowned Thai Premier League champion SCG Muang Thong United. AIA supports almost 30 clubs in Thai football and Ron van Oijen, CEO of AIA Thailand, said: “The arrival of PSV to Thailand lifts football to a higher level. The sharing of knowledge and experience will give a boost to the sport in Thailand.”

In other news, Eindhoven-based company Martin Glas has agreed a two-year sponsorship deal with PSV that will include the title of preferred supplier at the club. Marcel Janssen, director of Martin Glas, said: “We see a major regional and national presence of the strong brand PSV and have the same ambition with the brand Martin Glas. We would therefore like to associate with PSV and in the coming years build a good sponsorship.”
