German 1.Bundesliga club FC Nurnberg has signed a one-year extension to its sponsorship deal with locally based firm N-ERGIE.

The energy company, which has its headquarters in the city of Nurnberg, will continue as one of seven exclusive partners having associated itself with the club for more than a decade. Nurnberg’s other exclusive partners include Audi, Coca-Cola, Kulmbacher, Thomas Sabo, CanadianSolar and PSD Bank. Nurnberg finished 10th in the 1.Bundesliga last season and commences its 2011-12 campaign with a trip to Hamburg SV on August 25.

“N-ERGIE has always proved a reliable partner to FC Nurnberg,” said the club’s director of finance and administration, Ralf Woy. “It is naturally pleasing that we continue to form a team. N-ERGIE’s partnership for many years has also played a relevant role in the successful development of the club.”

Josef Hasler, chairman of N-ERGIE, added: “Our commitment as an exclusive partner of FC Nurnberg has been proven in recent years in many ways. First, we were able to further increase our visibility. Second, through our commitment to the club and our many sponsorship activities we have made available to the people of Nurnberg and the region, a wide athletic, cultural and social offering.”
