Liverpool Courts new partner
17 May 2012
Barclays Premier League outfit Liverpool has furthered its Asian ties by agreeing a deal that sees Singapore company Courts present the LFC International Academy Soccer Schools.
Liverpool’s one-year partnership with the IT, electronics and home furnishing solutions retailer will see four football camps rolled out for aspiring players in Malaysia and Singapore during the December 2012 school holidays. Members of the public will have the chance to sign their children up for the camps, of which there will be two in each participating country. Each will feature 48 participants and one camp will benefit from the involvement of Courts-sponsored S-League team, Courts Young Lions (CYL).
Terry O’Connor, Courts’ CEO, said: “At Courts, we stay committed to engaging and giving back to the community and are always on the lookout for interesting ways to do so. We are extremely excited to bring the Liverpool FC legacy to local shores and hope the upcoming soccer camps will be a huge hit with our soccer-loving customers. Families and friends will have yet another option to spend quality time together during the school holidays.”
Liverpool’s managing director, Ian Ayre, added: “We are delighted to be partnering with one of Malaysia and Singapore’s retail giants, and be given the opportunity to coach and nurture young talents through our extensive training programme. We have an exciting line-up of football activities which will help to bring out the best in each and every aspiring player. This unique partnership highlights LFC’s commitment to creating opportunities in Asia, following our opening of our representative office in Singapore in 2010.”
