The Belgian arm of Dutch financial services firm ING has extended its sponsorship deal with the Belgian Football Association (URBSFA/KBVB) through to the end of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Under the terms of the deal, ING Belgium will remain as a main sponsor of the Belgian national team alongside Belgacom, Verelst, Coca-Cola, Ergo, GLS, Jupiler, PwC and BMW. ING has partnered the URBSFA/KBVB since 2010 and will also continue to sponsor referees in the Belgian domestic game.
Rik Vandenberghe, CEO of ING Belgium, said: “The players are an impressive team both on a sporting and human level. It is a pleasure to work with them, as we have just done in organising a memorable encounter between some players and their lookalikes. The film has already been viewed more than 150,000 times, reflecting the public’s enthusiasm for this team as a professional and friendly outfit.”
Buoyed by the emergence of a wealth of talented players, Belgium appears set to qualify for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil after enhancing its position at the top of European qualifying Group A with a 2-0 win in Scotland on Friday.
