Fast Track takes on task of boosting Omani football
18 May 2012
Sports and entertainment agency Fast Track will seek to raise the profile of the Oman national team after winning a three-way pitch to take up international PR and communications for the Oman Football Association (OFA).
Fast Track will push the Middle Eastern nation through OFA digital and social media platforms, as well as giving exposure to existing and emerging Omani talent across traditional media in major football markets such as the UK, Germany, Italy and France. The 12-month campaign hopes to cash in on a relative period of sustained success for the side ranked 92nd in the world by FIFA.
The 2009 Gulf Cup of Nations winner has reached the final qualification stages for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and plays Japan and Australia in June as outsiders to reach the tournament for the first time in its history. Last month, Oman’s Olympic side was denied a place at London 2012 in a final play-off with Senegal.
OFA commercial director, Nic Cartwright, said: “We are extremely pleased to have Fast Track on board with OFA to support what is both an important and highly exciting moment in the evolution of football in Oman. We have a great opportunity to capitalise on our success by building a long-term fan base in the Middle East and raising awareness of Omani football around the world. We are looking forward to doing this over time with the help of Fast Track.”
